A Short Note On WP 2.1 And Feedburner

Filed January 26th, 2007 in General

Just a quick heads-up to my fellow bloggers who are making the switch to WordPress v 2.1: if you are using the Feedburner Feed Replacement plugin, you should upgrade to the newest version, 2.2.

A word of caution, though—you’re going to need to log into your Feedburner account and redo your feed link when you upgrade. Check your feeds!

If you need help with the process, let me know.

UPDATE:

Eric from Feedburner left a comment generously offering his assistance with any Feedburner issues you may have. Here is his comment:

Eric from FeedBurner here and fellow WordPress user (EricJohnOlson.com). I am also happy to help anyone that has any FeedBurner related issues after upgrading to WP 2.1. Just shoot me a note if you need me.

Cheers,
Eric

    Hello Steve, hello Eric,
first of all thanks for your generosity :)

Here my situation: my site is http://www.cg-blog.com and my feeds on feedburner are here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/cg-blog/iWYe

I use feedburnerReplacement and I recently updated my WP to 2.1 version. Do I have to “redo my feed link”? What does it means exactly? Do I have to change my feed address?

    Sorry for my english :)

Ciro, it looks like you’re ok. You can validate your feed here: http://feedvalidator.org/ . It shows a couple of errors, but they’re minor.

    Thanks Steve! :)

I’ve the same problem with my italian blog: http://www.grafica3dblog.it , here the feedburner: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Grafica3dBlog

When I added feedburnerreplacement for the first time the reades immediatley incresed by 20%… and they followed increasing faster than ever for 2/3 months.

Now the readers don’t increase but change every day: 100,180,90,130,100,160,81…

It’s so strange: do you think could I have same problem with my feed?

Thanks a lot in advance :)

    Ciro -

That’s normal readership change, probably. Mine fluctuates 10-15% daily.

Feedburner has a feed you can subscribe to that shows any problems with your blog feeds. Sign on to your feedburner account, click ‘My Account’ at the top, then click on the FeedBulletin button in the left column of the page and follow the directions.
